What are Minecraft Dungeons 2 Echo Shards used for?

Minecraft Dungeons 2 Echo Shards support the enchanting system. They can be involved in improving gear through an enchantment and in improving the Enchantsmith. Review the particular action before spending; these are not all the same upgrade.

A shard balance does not replace Enchantment Points. An effect must also be available through the enchanting system, including your book library.
